We are Rodolfo and Yolanda, a Puerto Rican couple who have always found peace and beauty in the natural world. The texture of a rock, the shape of a river stone, the materials the earth gifts us—these have always spoken to us in a special way.
 

One day, we discovered an ancient Japanese technique for working with stone and natural fibers, and we were completely captivated. What began as curiosity turned into a passion. We started practicing it as a hobby—without a plan, simply for the joy of the process.
 

We learned to sense each stone: its texture, its weight, its unique shape. Each one has its own personality, and our work is simply to reveal it—wrapping it in leather, rattan, and organic fibers to create something that embodies presence, calm, and meaning.

Over time, the pieces we created for ourselves began to catch the eye of friends and family, leading us to share our work with a wider audience.
 

From this deeply personal and authentic process, the name Ishikozen was born. It is formed by three Japanese words:

Ishi (石), meaning stone;
Ko (子), conveying the idea of ​​a small creation or essence born from something;

Zen (禅), representing inner calm, balance, and a connection to nature. 

Together, these words describe exactly what we do: taking a stone—just as nature created it—and transforming it into a small piece of serenity for your space.
 

Today, every object that leaves our hands is unique and one-of-a-kind—just like the stones that inspire them. We do not mass-produce; no two pieces are alike. Each one is crafted with intention, patience, and the same love for nature that brought us to this journey.
